Everything to Know About the 2024 Oscars

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles will host the Academy Awards. Jimmy Kimmel is back for his fourth season as host, and he’s bringing an A-list lineup of guests with him. Jimmy Kimmel has stated in the past that he is returning to host the show in part because he has a sneaking suspicion that a hit film will be nominated; he argues that it is easier to make jokes about something that the audience has already seen.

“At least I have a point of reference with everyone,” he replied, quietly contemplating his next move as he sat in a movie theater, watching Barbie.

Top Gun: Maverick received six Oscar nominations in 2023, including best picture, and he expressed a similar sentiment: It simplifies things, and I knew people had watched the movie.
