Isaiah Thomas allegedly signs a 10-day Suns contract in his NBA return
Isaiah Thomas, a veteran of the National Basketball Association, may make his first appearance on the big stage in two years.
The 35-year-old player is getting ready to sign a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns, according to a rumor that Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Saturday.
In April 2022, Thomas made his most recent appearance in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Charlotte Hornets. As a member of the Hornets, he participated in 17 games and averaged 8.3 points per game while playing 12.9 minutes. After playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks, he finished his string of 22 games with the Charlotte Hornets.
During this time, he also played for the Charlotte Hornets. Each of the three stints started off with a separate contract that was for ten days.
According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports, Thomas will eventually take the final roster spot for the Suns, but it is highly unlikely that he will enter the playoff rotation unless he serves as injury insurance.

As the squad continues to contend with the loss of guards Damion Lee and Josh Okogie, Thomas will aim to provide some production off the bench for the team. The 5-foot-9 and In the 2014–15 season, Thomas joined the Phoenix Suns and participated in 46 games. Two years later, when he was a member of the Boston Celtics, he finished fifth in the MVP voting.
As part of a three-team trade that included Marcus Thornton and a first-round draft selection that the Suns would subsequently transfer in the acquisition of Marquese Chriss, Phoenix traded Thomas to Boston at the trade deadline in 2015. This was part of a deal that brought these three teams together. When he was a member of the Suns, Thornton only played nine games.
The most recent agreement follows the signing of the former All-Star player for the Boston Celtics to the Salt Lake City Stars, who are the G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz. The signing took place earlier this month. During four games, he averaged 32.5 points per game, in addition to 5.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals.
On Saturday, he scored 34 points in a victory for the Stars, which was his most recent performance of 30 points, which he performed hours before the news had been released.
When Thomas suffered a hip injury while playing for the Celtics in 2017, his National Basketball Association career, which had begun with the Sacramento Kings in 2011, went through a difficult period. As a result of his decision to continue playing despite the discomfort in his hip and the death of his younger sister during the playoffs, the team was able to advance all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals during that postseason.
Thomas was able to score 33 points in the East semifinals of those playoffs even though he had lost his tooth to the elbow of Otto Porter Jr., who was the Washington Wizard at the time.
Although Thomas experienced a dental emergency, it did not immediately hinder him, as he went on to score 53 points in the following game against the Wizards. In the end, he was deemed unable to participate in the remainder of the postseason and was then traded to the Cavaliers in exchange for Kyrie Irving.
In the aftermath of the hip injury, he was unable to regain his signature quickness and went on to play for the Wizards, the Denver Nuggets, and the New Orleans Pelicans. The fact that he was unsigned prior to the beginning of the 2021–22 season is the reason for his string of 10-day contracts.
Most recently, the 35-year-old player participated in four games with the Salt Lake City Stars, which is the Utah Jazz’s affiliate in the G League. He made over 45 percent of his 14 three-point shots per game, averaging 32.5 points, 5.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while playing 36.9 minutes per game.
The Grand Rapids Gold, who are the Denver Nuggets’ affiliate, were defeated by the Stars by a score of 115-110 on Saturday, thanks to the leadership of Thomas.
