Country music star Toby Keith loses battle to cancer at 62
Toby Keith, a renowned country music artist, persevered in his battle against stomach cancer.
The singer-songwriter’s website has a statement that reads, “He passed away on Monday, surrounded by his family.” The statement continued, “He fought his fight with grace and courage.”
In June 2022, Keith declared he had cancer and that he had been undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery for the previous six months. “I am excited to spend this time with my loved ones. However, I’ll meet the supporters as soon as possible,” he posted on Instagram. “I can’t wait.”
During the 19th annual Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic weekend in June, he conducted a live auction. Funds were raised for the Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral, a free accommodation option for kids and their families traveling to Oklahoma City for cancer treatment, during his two-day hometown charity event.
“I feel fairly well right now. It will be roughly eight weeks until my next scan. Thus, I anticipate that the next time I search for that tumor, it will be even smaller—I’ve only had one so far that’s shown up,” Keith stated in an exclusive June interview with The Oklahoman, a division of USA TODAY Network.

Certain Occupations: According to specialists, there is an increased risk of stomach cancer among workers in the rubber, metal, and coal industries.
Having blood type A: People with type A blood are more likely to get stomach cancer for unknown causes.
